In-depth analysis of literary works by prominent contemporary writers throughout the world, including essayists, journalists, playwrights, novelists, short story writers, and/or poets. Examines perspectives representing a variety of cultures. Literary responses to current issues of worldwide interest examined, including topics as environment, technology, medicine, economics, politics, education, human rights, law and order. May be repeated for a total of eight (8) credit units with permission of instructor. Prerequisites: None
